Krista Miller excels at budget analysis, human resources leadership, and creating civic master plans. In her position as Lakeside, Oregon, recorder and manager, she inherited a lack of resources and a breakdown in organizational functioning. Helping repair fractured vendor and agency relationships, she rebooted essential infrastructure projects that had been neglected. Krista Miller built a capable administrative team from the ground up and reoriented the city’s fiscal direction while developing new financial management systems.
Ms. Miller’s signature accomplishments included securing $14 million in American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARPA) funds via Business Oregon. She directed these into an urgently needed new wastewater treatment plant. She also overhauled internal procedures and accounting practices in ways that reduced waste and fostered values of accountability and transparency across departments. Ms. Miller’s position was built on similar leadership with the city of Mitchell, Oregon, where she addressed long-neglected infrastructure, including wastewater systems.
Krista Miller has extensive previous experience as an assisted-living and hospice caregiver. As Kelly House community liaison and assistant director, she also oversaw an on-site afterschool program that fostered values of creativity and emotional and academic growth among students.
